Santorini: A romantic getaway!

Honeymoon is always special in any couple’s life and how about planning it to one of the exotic location in the world. Santorini is one such dream destination for a honeymoon and the memories you create in this place will remain with you for a lifetime. Santorini is a cluster of islands created from a volcanic eruption. Beautiful crystal clear blue waters, clear skies, red beaches and a beautiful sunset is all set to welcome you!

​Santorini can be reached with flights from all the metros in India! You would need a Schengen visa to visit Santorini which is in Greece.

Oia : Oia is a picture-perfect village of whitewashed houses out of which some are converted into boutique hotels.There are small zig zag paths where you can walk on to get the essence of the town. Oia is specially known for its stunning sunset. Visitors from all over the island flock here to get the beautiful site.They say that the view is so beautiful that you won’t  ever forget it in lifetime!●Caldera : Caldera is formed due to massive volcanic explosion in the center of the island. Caldera is a sea-filled crater. It still has volcanic activity live which has lead to hot springs here. You can plan a one day excursion here and bathe in the hot springs. Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni are two islands in middle of Caldera. Visitors enjoy mud baths and sulphur baths here.
Also plan a  visit to the  tiny island Thirassia  to get the breathtaking views of Santorini.●Akrotíri ruins: During the volcanic explosion, the ancient city of Akrotíri was buried under it.This was later excavated and was reopened to public in 2012. The rich culture and the details about the lives of the Minoan people living in ancient Santorini can be witnessed here.●Red Beach: Near Akrotíri, the famous Red Beach which is below a spectacular red cliff wall. This place is indeed a wonder and is flocked by the tourists. See the topaz blue water with a tinge of red alongside the red beach! The huge red cliffs and red sand will make you remember this place forever!

Beach at Perissa : This is the most popular beach in Santorini and it has a long stretch of black volcanic sand.There are loads of sunbeds and umbrellas available on rent here there are a number of cafes which serve you food. Couples love to sunbathe here!

Santorini Lighthouse: This is considered as one of the most romantic destination in Santorini! The lighthouse gives a panoramic view of the fishing villages and a huge sea which seems endless! Just sitting hand-in-hand and watching the beautiful view will make it a romantic evening!

Skora Rocks: To get the breathtaking views of the Aegean, do visit the Skora rocks.There is also a castle which is now a ruin and is worth a visit.

There are other places like Thera Museum,Church of Holy Cross, Agios Nikolaos Monastery which are worth a visit. People also love to take donkey rides in Oia and Fira to get a unique experience.

Best time to visit Santorini is from late April to early November when the weather is warm and you can enjoy sunbathing and swimming here.
